Don’t Give Up On Your Dream. – Motivational Video

I may have nightmares at night but I still have dreams to live for.

I dream to be free of substance abuse which in a few days on July 20, I will be 9 months sober!

I used to think I could never become sober, but this is the driest I have ever been since I started drinking. I just finished nine months of Substance Abuse programs yesterday. Those programs did more for me; than what I ever imagined I could accomplish by myself. It’s not easy to become sober, but it is possible. I don’t need to run to a substance to make me feel better; there are other ways to deal with these problems, healthier habits. Substances destroyed me in so many ways. Only temporary happiness comes from it. I want to keep focusing on positive ways to deal with hardship and grow within. Sobriety is the best thing that has happened to me on so many levels.

I dream to be able to live a peaceful life with my PTSD.

I know I will never be free of it, but I know I will be able to live a healthy, functional life with it. Today I enter a PTSD program in San Diego for six months to help me reach that dream. I hope to explore more about my PTSD and the neurological side of it. The more I study myself and why I am the way I became, the more of a chance I have to be able to control my emotions and actions. I don’t want this to keep destroying my life but to be able to move forward and stay focused and live a successful life worth living.

I dream to live a better life where I’m happy to get out of bed and live my life to the fullest.

I struggle to get out of bed most mornings and finding that motivation to keep pushing. But once I force myself to get up and active I enhance my attitude to become more positive the more I get tasks I get accomplished.

I dream that I will be free of my depression.

Being in a depression state of mind can be hard to live with. The more I explore my depression and what attributes trigger it, the easier it is for me to escape those feelings and get myself back on track.

I dream to have more self-confidence.

I used to tear myself apart and think I wasn’t good enough. I destroyed myself because I didn’t believe in myself. There are times that I did accomplish many obstacles and achieved many goals, but I would let my hardships bring me down and forget that I do have positive qualities in myself. Without self-confidence, you cannot grow in life. Remember, there are positive attributes about yourself and work on developing and expanding your inner qualities to improve yourself.

I dream to be a better role model for my nieces, nephew, and younger cousins.

I want them to be able to look up at me in the right way. I don’t want them to see a drunk or strung out uncle. I don’t want them to see me as a failure. I don’t want to be a failure in life. I want to continue to work on myself, so they don’t fall down a road that I once lived. I want them to grow up and live healthy, successful lifestyles. When they do hit hard times as they get older, I want them to be able to reach out to me for help and not substances to cope with their problems because that’s what I used to do. They mean everything to me, and I love them so much. They make me want to live a better life. They make me want to be the right role model. Where I can show them that anything in life is possible and explain to them to stay confident in life and not give up when they get let down on their failures. That life is full of opportunities and excitement. That they can belive in me as I believe in them. Set the right example, so they go down the right path.

I dream that what I am doing today will help inspire others to believe in themselves to live a better life.

That your downfaults and hardships do not have to destroy your life; there is a way to live a better experience. That if you focus and educate yourself, you can make a change—a better, positive change inside you. Your life isn’t over yet; you still have a long way to go. Don’t let your past predict your future. The present you is the most important, to live the future you desire. Believe in yourself and make your dreams come true.

I dream to set goals for myself.

Without setting goals, you’re confined to the same lifestyle you are living now. Have goals to look forward to, something to keep you going. We need them to better ourselves. If you’re not trying to improve yourself, what are you doing? Yes, we may live busy lives with work, if you have a family to care for, and the hardships you experience. But make sure you take the time to invest in yourself. Investing in yourself will bring out the best in you and a more energetic, influential, positive, confident individual. Become the person you dream of being.

I dream because I know there’s a better life waiting for me to experience.
